Joy's Birthday Party Blog Hop

Welcome Everyone,

First of all, I want to wish Joy a Happy Birthday! May this be your best year ever! I hope everyone is having a fun time "hopping" along! If you did not know, Joy had a strawberry themed birthday party since she was eight years old. I decided to play along with this theme! I decided to make a strawberry cupcake (I used Pilsbury Strawberry Cake Mix) and a cute strawberry cupcake wrapper with a matching topper. I also created a birthday card using the Birthday Bash Cricut Cartridge (recipe follows). Here is what I created:

Cupcake Holder:

- cut from Sweet Treats at 5.5 inches
- red ink
- adhesive
- scalloped circle cut at 2 inches, circle cut at 1.5 inches, flower cut at 0.75 inches
- hearts from Joy's Life Lots of Puns Stamp set
- dimensionals
-tooth pick

The cat and birthday cake was cut from the Birthday Bash cartridge at 4.25 inches.  The strawberry ribbon is from Michaels and the paper is from the DVWC Nana's Nursery Stack. The sentiment featured on this card is from Joy's Mother and Daughter Stamp Set.

Design Team Thursday

Hello Everyone,

Sorry for the late DT post! I was feeling under the weather yesterday. Anyways, here is the post:

As many of you know, Joy is hosting a Birthday Blog Hop on February 19th. I thought it would be fun to a birthday related project.  I used the Father & Sons stamp set for the “Happy Birthday” sentiment.  I made a triangular treat box that could be easily filled with some sweet treats! It was super easy to make as well. I cut the box at 5.5 inches from the Tags, Boxes and More cartridge. The two tags were cut at 1.25 inches from the same cartridge using the window creative feature. Ink the edges with red ink, add a bow or knot and stick in a candle, and you have a super cute treat box!

Sweet Cupcake

Hello Everyone,

WOW, another post! You guys are spoiled this week... LOL! This card was made using a modified cupcake from the font on the 3 Birds on Parade Cartridge. I used my Gypsy to take the little paws out at the bottom of the cut. Both cupcakes are secured with an action wobble! The faces are from Peachy Keen Stamps! Here is the card:

I hope I inspired you to make something this week!

Valentine's Day Shaped Card

 Hello Everyone,

Traditional Valentine’s day colours are red, pink and white. For this particular card, I wanted to create something a little more unusual. As you can see, the colour palette for this card is orange, white, and yellow. The card base was cut from the Birthday Bash cartridge at 5.75 inches, the bee was cut from the Create a Critter cartridge at 3 inches and the tag with the sentiment on it was cut from the Gypsy Wanderings cartridge at 1 inch. I also created an extra layer for the card to add more dimension. I used Joy’s Lots of Puns stamp set for the adorable sentiment and some cord in place of ribbon. I hope you enjoy this card as much as I do!!!

Design Team Thursday

Hello Everyone,

This week I wanted to try something different. I decided to make a mini album that only uses ONE (yes only one) piece of 12 by 12 paper! I admit, I did not come up with this idea but here is how I learnt how to make one. I used Joy's Mother and Daughter stamp set and a cuttlebug die to embellish this card. I also cut out four tags from the Sweet Treat cartridge to place inside some of the pouches, but ultimately, you can completely customize this yourself.

You can journal and place photos inside this handy little album and it is small enough to take anywhere!

Happy Crafting Everyone!
